Social Responsibility Project Coordination Office, established under the Rectorate of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMÜ); To produce solutions to social problems with the active participation of our university's students, academic and administrative staff, considering social benefit rather than individual interests within an ethical framework; Carrying out improvement works for sensitive groups such as disabled people, children, young people, elderly and women; It includes non-profit activities that will raise awareness in society, with the aim of responding to economic, cultural and social needs.
Social responsibility is defined as individuals regulating their behavior by taking into account their social consequences. Social responsibility activities, which are based on volunteering activities, have a difference-making effect in society as a result of individuals, institutions and organizations, and the private sector gathering and acting around the aim of "well-being", based on the "philanthropy" approach, in order to ensure social balance in society.
It is our values that elevate us. Educational environments that pave the way for the learning and dissemination of human values such as equality, transparency, honesty, cooperation, generosity, compassion, empathy and loyalty; It provides the training of individuals who are aware of social responsibility and aim to contribute to social development. In this context, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, which has adopted the values of justice, environmental awareness, respect for differences and lifelong learning as principles since the day it was founded, has established the Social Responsibility Project Coordinatorship, where studies will be carried out that will be instrumental in raising individuals who work for the society and will contribute to social welfare.
The purpose of ÇOMÜ Social Responsibility Project Coordination Office; To ensure that our university's students and faculty members work together to solve social problems, to carry out training and activity activities regarding social responsibilities, to encourage the development of social responsibility projects, and in this context to try to strengthen their social and civil responsibilities by collaborating with relevant institutions and organizations. Under our coordination; Support is provided to raise individuals who are socially responsible, sensitive and sensitive to social problems, and it is aimed to increase the quality of life of the society with social responsibility projects carried out with the aim of helping not only the environment but also everyone in need.
Since the first day of its establishment, "ÇOMÜ Boutique" has provided an environment where students can meet their basic needs such as clothing, food, household goods and stationery free of charge; "Let My Gift Come", which aims to deliver boots, coats, toys and stationery products to areas where they are needed; Efforts are made for a more livable world with projects such as "My World VR ÇOMÜ", which provides virtual reality tours for students studying in village schools with virtual reality glasses.
